With Anthem’s release almost upon us, questions and, in the form of answers to those questions, details about the game have been coming in thick and fast. BioWare’s Ben Irving and Michael Gamble were both active on Twitter recently to answer a few such questions, and gave out some new details on the game’s length, and how much content players can expect to see in the upcoming shared world shooter.
In response to a question by a fan who asked how long Anthem will be in comparison to something like Dragon Age or Mass Effect, Irving said that it’s hard to make that sort of a comparison, and that as such, BioWare aren’t commenting on the same, before giving the customary “depends on how you play” response. Gamble, too, was asked a similar question, and though he said that nailing down the exact length of a playthrough is a little hard in Anthem’s case, he did mention that there will be a lot of content in the game, including strongholds and side quests.
Given Anthem’s nature as a shared world service title, it makes sense that giving an exact (or even a rough) figure for how long it will be might not be as easy as in the case of most other games, while it’s also worth noting that there’s bound to be plenty of meaningful post-launch support in the form of events and raids that will take that number even higher.
Anthem launches on February 22 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Meanwhile, it will also be receiving a demo in less than a month, which “VIP” players will have access to a week earlier than anyone else. Head on over here for more info on what the demo will include.
