Bioware may not have come forth with tons of information on Anthem during its presentation at EA Play 2018. However, in the weeks since, we’ve been inundated with gameplay impressions, cover stories and much more. Executive producer Mark Darrah has also been working overtime to answer questions on Twitter and recently announced that yes, Anthem’s damage numbers can be turned off.
Darrah tweeted a picture of the same, which can be seen below. The word “Floaties” seems to also denote words like “Combo” that pop up when certain abilities work together. What about players who want the damage numbers but don’t want them to be so large? There’s still no word on whether font sizes and transparencies will be tuned.
However, Darrah did offer a bit of clarification on Strongholds, the challenging activities that require four players to complete. When a fan asked if Strongholds were an end-game activity (since the demo showcased at E3 2018 took place in one) or unlocked during the main story, Darrah said, “We unlock some along the way. There is an additional Elder Game mode that we will talk about later.”
It’s highly likely that Strongholds could have additional difficulties and modifiers in the Elder Game in exchange for better rewards. We’ll have to wait for more information in the coming months. Anthem is currently slated to release on February 22nd 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
