Anthem’s End Game Content Will Have More Than Just Strongholds, Be Accessible But Rewarding

Bioware will endeavor to have satisfying end game content in Anthem.

Bioware’s next project is a sharp departure from the kinds of games the company has traditionally been known for. Instead of putting out a story driven RPG, they are putting out a co-op shared world shooter RPG named Anthem– and, much like always seems to happen each time one of these games is announced, there’s quite a few questions fans have about how this game will work, especially with the end game, the lack of which can often kill the longevity of these titles (see also Destiny 2‘s struggles).

Speaking on Reddit, Bioware’s Ben Scott, who is working on the endgame content in Anthem, recently shared some more information on what players can expect from the title. He explained, for example, that strongholds, which are dungeons that open up in the endgame, will not be the only endgame activity available- they’re just the only one that Bioware is talking about right now.

He also mentioned that Bioware wants to involve and engage with the community as it shapes the direction of the end game content in the game, and that the aim is to have rewarding end game content that nonetheless is accessible, and does not foster an atmosphere of elitism or toxicity. Replayability, and being “easy to understand, difficult to master” sound like they may be the key goals here.

It sounds good- it’s the kind of thing that Destiny, or even Monster Hunter World, lacked. Can Bioware pull it off, however? You see, that’s the part that remains to be seen.
