While the Apex Legends Battle Pass got leaked last week (and then Respawn officially confirmed they will be sharing details shortly afterwards), it seems as though it is tomorrow that the first season of the game will be starting. EA and Respawn announced today that the Battle pass for the game will be available for sale starting tomorrow at $10 a pop, while the first season itself will be called “Wild Frontier”.
You can also get a Battle pass bundle for 2,800 in game coins (about $25) to get the Battle Pass, and the first 25 levels right off the bat. No matter how you get the Battle Pass, though, getting it instantly gives you the Lifeline Revolutionary skin, the Wraith Survivor skin, and the Mirage Outlaw skin.
The amazing thing here is the “tiers” of rewards—to be clear, there are a hundred of them, so you have a lot to work through and towards, assuming you are interested (and that you like Apex Legends enough). Even if you don’t get the Battle Pass, simply engaging with Season 1 of Apex Legends can get you in-game rewards such as 5 Apex packs, 18 Frontier stat trackers, or a free skin.
It seems like Respawn and EA are planning on using the Battle Passes to retain user engagement, not unlike how Epic Games does with Fortnite—though whether or not they are as successful remains to be seen, at the very least they are off to a good start in terms of their player base.
Apex Legends is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
