Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon Has Been Rated by the ESRB

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's mech action game is set to launch for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in August.

2023 has been the year that keeps on giving, and it doesn’t seem like that momentum is showing any signs of stopping, given the vast amount of major releases lined up for the remainder of the year. One in particular that sits high on the list of most anticipated games for many is Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconand ahead of its release, the FromSoftware titles has also received its ESRB certification.

The rating has handed the game with a T rating, as many would have expected, and briefly describes the game fast-paced action, mechanized violence, and its references to a fictional drug called Coral. Of course, that the game has been given a rating by the ESR would also suggest that it’s continuing to make good progress behind-the-scenes on the road to launch, since certification ratings generally tend to happen in the later stages of a game’s development cycle.

You can read the ESRB’s full description below:

“This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of a mercenary carrying out military-style missions. Players pilot mechanized battle suits (i.e., mechs), using machine guns, rocket launchers, missiles, and melee-style attacks to destroy enemies (e.g., other mechs, tanks, helicopters). Battles are often fast-paced, accompanied by realistic gunfire and large explosions—damaged battle suits often burst into fiery wreckage/scattered debris. The game contains references to a fictional drug in the dialogue/text (e.g., “The Dosers are locked in a power struggle over the Coral drug trade”; “No one’s getting high off that”; “You gotta take Rubicon’s blessings raw…Hits your brain with a pop and a sizzle.”). The word “sh*t” appears in the game.”

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is set to launch on August 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
