It looks like the next Assassin’s Creed game has been leaked, in keeping with the long line of tradition of every new entry in the franchise getting leaked before its official announcement- and Ubisoft almost made it to its (presumed) E3 reveal without suffering a leak this time, too!
The new game will be called Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and will be set in ancient Greece, specifically in Sparta. The game will continue to build up the RPG elements that last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins added even further, with dialog choices and a selectable protagonist among the many new mechanics that it will have. The new male and female protagonist will not be Bayek or Aya from Origins, but entirely new characters.
As of right now, the game is due out before April 2019, although a release in the final three months of this year is the most likely, given the series’ traditional release history. Presumably, it will be out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. While the sources of the leak (Kotaku) are very trustworthy, it may be best to treat this with some caution regardless, until there is an official announcement.
