Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has a healthy file size for a game of its scope, coming in at over 40GB. That is, unless you are planning on playing it on Nintendo Switch (which, in Japan only, is getting streaming version of the game). In that case, it turns out that the game’s file size will be a bit over 40… MB. It’s 44MB.
There is, of course, a reason for that— Assassin’s Creed Odyssey isn’t actually running on the Switch. As noted above, it’s being streamed to it, so the file on the Switch is actually just the client to receive the stream. Which means it makes sense that it is that small (and actually I’m wondering why it’s not smaller still). I suppose the good news is, we don’t have to worry about cleaning up the fridge if we want to play Odyssey on the Switch. We just have to worry about having a constant internet connection. And moving to Japan.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launches tomorrow for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review over here.
