"Microtransactions, for all the flak it gets, allows us to do the Isu stuff, the quest stuff, the parkour updates, all of it."
Out tomorrow, the new quest sees Naoe and Yasuke exploring the Crystal Cave and potentially coming face to face with a Titan.
Another Title Update, due on November 25th, will add an intricate new environmental puzzle, abilities, and a "humorous" quest.
The port costs $59.99 and features cross-progression and touch-screen support. It doesn't include Claws of Awaji, which launches next year.
Allegedly, though the unannounced sequel's focus on Polynesian mythology was "promising", Ubisoft decided to focus instead on the next big Assassin's Creed release.
"The expertise and technologies these teams developed will serve as an accelerator for the development of these key projects focused on our biggest brands," the company says.
Ubisoft's Arisa Lagunzad said the company is "seeking sponsoring partner for this title Assassin's Creed Codename RED for next year."
The title is reportedly inspired by Splinter Cell and Hitman, including the ability to conceal bodies, extinguish lights and hide in tall grass.
Those who love "immersing themselves in the past" can jump in "and never be interrupted or need to know who Desmond and Layla are."
Ubisoft's Marc-Alexis Côté confirms that like most previous Assassin's Creed titles, the upcoming Codename RED will also be well-supported following launch.
Ubisoft says the game will represent a technical leap for the series, also bringing improvements in animations, visuals, and more.
"It is still the same games that we were building, but bridged together in the Infinity hub," says project leader Marc-Alexis Côté.
Ubisoft also confirmed that Assassin's Creed Infinity is a hub that will connect all of the different experiences, including Red and Hexe.
The live service title could also "remake and retell" the stories of older Assassin's Creed titles while providing a new, paid story overtime.
Recent reports indicate that Ubisoft's flagship open world series is in line for a major reinvention in the coming years- but is that a smart move?
The live-service online title is being looked at as an "evolving hub for all things Assassin's Creed." It may even be "Helix/Abstergo related."
The live service title is in development right now, with Ubisoft's Quebec and Montreal studios collaborating in what will become a long-term platform for the series.
The title will be a "massive online platform that evolves over time" and is being developed by the reorganized Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec.
