In August last year, Ubisoft released 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and later in the year, said that it was looking into doing the same for 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins as well. Though communication on that front has dried up since then, it looks like that patch will be arriving soon.
@PlaystationSize, a Twitter page that routinely tracks updates made to the PlayStation Network database, recently reported that update 1.60 for Assassin’s Creed Origins was recently uploaded by Ubisoft. In addition to adding a franchise menu for connectivity with other games in the series, the patch apparently also enables “higher frame rate” for those playing the game on a PS5. The patch seems to be scheduled to go live next week, between May 24 and May 26.
The upgrade seems in line with what Ubisoft did for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey last year, which enjoyed boosted frame rates on new consoles, but was otherwise left untouched. It’s likely that an official announcement for this will be arriving soon, so keep an eye out for that.
