Assassin’s Creed Origins – Ubisoft Looking to Add 60 FPS Support for Consoles

The 2017 open world title, which set the current direction for the series, will seemingly be updated for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Following a recent update to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to have it run in 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it seems Ubisoft is planning the same for Assassin’s Creed Origins. In a recent tweet celebrating AC Day, the company said it was “looking into” adding 60 FPS support to the 2017 title.

It seems fairly overdue at this point considering how important Assassin’s Creed Origins is to the franchise’s current state. Following the underwhelming sales reception to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Origins adopted an action RPG approach with more side quests and dialogue choices while de-emphasizing stealth. This would continue with Odyssey and the recently released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia – you can check out our review for the base game here. As for Valhalla, it’s set to receive a new expansion called Dawn of Ragnarok on March 10th, 2022.
