Assassin’s Creed Unity: PC Errors And Issues Fixes

Buggy game is buggy, who would've guessed.

Assassin’s Creed Unity has been met with both high praise and scathing abuse across the board. Some players are reporting the game “holds up” well , which isn’t really a good thing, whereas others have said the game is a “shambles”.

On the console side of this, there’s not much that can be done by the player. On the PC however, where gamers must deal with Ubisoft’s shoddy porting and the dreadful resource sink that is Uplay, there are at least some things you can do. First of all, ensure that you have patch 1.1 and 1.2 installed. These “fix” (a strong word in this context) performance across gameplay, certain areas, graphical issues, multi GPU issues, Uplay issues etc.

If you get a ACU.exe isn’t working prompt, you need to disable Uplay’s in-game overlay. If the game is reading as “encrypted”, then the game hasn’t launched in your region yet. Not to worry though, it will soon be available globally. If the game is available, but is still reading as encrypted and you’re using steam, restart your steam client.

If you get a ACU.exe is corrupt prompt, navigate to the installation file, delete it and then verify the game cache. If Uplay crashes, and when does it not, restart your PC. If your graphics are popping in or you’re suffering from stuttering, ensure your Graphics Drivers are up to date.
