The Assassin’s Creed franchise is looking to come roaring back this year with the Viking-infused Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game will continue on in the style of the previous two mainline games, with RPG elements as well as selectable gender. We know it’ll be out this Holiday season, but when is that exactly? Well, a possible leak from a local retailer could tell us.
As posted on Reddit, a user on Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit said his local retailer changed the release date to Friday October 16th before quickly changing it back to the 2020 placeholder. While he did not provide the name of this store or screenshots for the public, mods claim that that information was sent to them and verified.
As always with leaks, take it with a grain of salt. But for reference, Odyssey released October 5th, 2018, Origins on October 27th, 2017 and Syndicate October 23rd, 2015, all of which were also on Friday. Definitely seems like a realistic enough date based on previous titles, at least for versions on current hardware. The game is set to also launch with next generation consoles, of which this is no date yet. We’ll let you know when something official comes down.
