This holiday season, we’ll all get to be vikings with the newest installment in the long running action series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game takes place in 9th century Britain and focuses on the conflict between the natives and the invading vikings that you will be part of. While the full plot details aren’t clear yet, and we’re on the verge of the game’s big marketing campaign, we do know at least one of the bonuses the game will have.
As you know, the game will have variety of different releases and a season pass. It was mentioned before that the season pass would also have a bonus mission, and the German version of uPlay has let the cat out of the bag that it will be called The Legend of Beowulf (as of writing this, this detail is not on the storefront listing of other regions).
If you’re unfamiliar with Beowulf, it was the title of an epic poem that’s considered one of the oldest and most important works of Old English literature. It follows the 6th century warrior Beowulf as he battles monsters from his youth as a cocky warrior to his eventual death as a battle hardened king. While there is some dispute on when the poem was actually written, some think it could have been in the time period Valhalla is set in. The description says it will reveal the “cruel truth” behind the tale, so it could go a lot of ways. It’s unclear when the mission will be available, whether at launch if you buy the season pass, or later down the road.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release Holiday 2020 across all major platforms.
