Baldur’s Gate 3 – Hotfix 2.1 Fixes Save Files, Re-Enables Cross-Platform Saves

An issue that affected save files due to the size growing too large has been fixed. Larian also confirmed that hotfix 3 is in the works.

Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 may have received significant acclaim from fans and critics, but it does have some issues. The developer has addressed the same in two hotfixes and is working on Patch 1 (which will add credits for the Brazilian Portuguese localization team).

In the meantime, hotfix 2.1 is available and fixes an issue that affected save files at launch. It was revealed that save files would often grow too big, which caused the syncing process to take forever. Larian has since increased the save file size to “infinite” (or as close to that as it can be) and re-enabled cross-saves ahead of the PS5 version’s launch.

Hotfix 3 is also in the works and will offer even more fixes and improvements, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. Check out the hotfix 2.1 notes below. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC – check out our review here. It goes live on September 6th for PS5.
