The patch features cross-play, Photo Mode, and 12 new subclasses. Its full release will include various fixes for bugs and crashes.
The RPG's upcoming Photo Mode will feature various options, including lens settings, scene settings, frames, stickers, and more.
Since official modding tools were added in September, players have uploaded over 3,000 mods and downloaded them a total of 70 million times.
Each class will receive a brand new subclass when Patch 8 lands next year, including the Swashbuckler, Hexblade, Path of Giants, and more.
Earlier this year, developer Larian Studios suggested the acclaimed RPG had sold well above 10 million units across all platforms.
"Unlike PC, consoles can only juggle so many files at once. The more mods you have installed, the quicker this file limit is reached," Larian Studios explains.
On PS5 Pro, the acclaimed RPG runs at a native 4K and 30 FPS in Quality mode, and 4K (upscaled from a native 1440p using PSSR) at 60 FPS.
About 10,000 of those downloads were to change Withers' name to "Bone Daddy", according to Larian Studios.
Those who load a previous Honour Mode save should also no longer see enemies with Legendary Actions during regular playthroughs.
After Patch 7 went live on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 earlier this week, players downloaded 1.7 million mods within 24 hours.
Currently available for PC, Patch 7 adds official modding support and tools for the RPG. It arrives in October for consoles and Mac.
The patch adds modding support, evil endings, dynamic split screen, Honour Mode mechanics for use in Custom Mode, and more.
The upcoming patch also updates the Reactions UI to toggle desired options, adds a new loading screen to Act 3 and much more.
Larian Studios is currently investigating an issue with one of the patch's fixes that caused passive rolls to stop working.
Larian Studios is also working on "gameplay tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes and performance optimizations."
It also introduces new features like a "certain bard" joining The Dark Urge's party temporarily and more idle animations for Lae'zel.
Launching in September, the patch will also add new Legendary Actions for enemies in Honour Mode to add even more spice.
The modding tools will allow players to "change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more" to overhaul the experience.
Larian Studios hypes "even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs," even if you don't play The Dark Urge.
Us is again the cause for players being unable to Short Rest, but the latest hotfix addresses this while tackling other bugs.
