"We made a big game, so I think there's a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay," said Larian's Swen Vincke.
Larian Studios' role-playing game is also available for PS5 and PC and has received extensive praise from various outlets.
The new difficulty saw over 158,000 playthroughs started over the weekend, with over 34,000 players failing in their runs.
