Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden – Combat, Customization, and Boss Fight Showcased in New Gameplay

Antea and Red take on a quest to hunt an otherworldly Beast, battling various enemies while discovering a terrible secret.

Along with new gameplay for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Focus Entertainment also showcased Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Developed by DON’T NOD of Life is Strange fame, the action RPG focuses on spirit hunters Antea and Red, who travel the land to help wayward spirits. The 15-minute gameplay sees the duo taking on a task for Thickskin to hunt a powerful Beast.

Combat alternates between Antea, a spirit who uses supernatural powers, and Red, who relies on a saber and magic. As you deal damage with Red, Antea’s meter becomes charged, and you can switch to her. Players can customize and upgrade their equipment at campsites while also conducting Rituals.

By the quest’s end, Thickskin is revealed to have done some terrible things. Red can choose to spare, which helps Antea ascend to the afterlife, or sacrifice, which contributes to her revival. DON’T NOD promises that decisions will impact the story and challenges faced, so it should be interesting to see what happens.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden launches on November 7th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
