Batman: Arkham Origins Developer Teases E3 2019 Absence

WB Games Montreal director Geoff Ellenor says he's currently in Canada and "NOT an airplane."

After Rocksteady Studios proclaimed its absence from E3 2019, Warner Bros. Games Montreal game director Geoff Ellenor has also chimed in on Twitter about his appearance at the event. Though he didn’t outright deny that the developer would be absent, he is currently in Montreal, Canada to see Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

“NOT an airplane,” he tweeted. “In case you needed to know in some way.” If Warner Bros. Games Montreal was to reveal its next project at E3 2019, it would make sense for Ellenor to be there. Then again, it’s not impossible for a teaser trailer or something else to be showcased. Maybe Ellenor is just being coy and will make a surprise appearance? It remains to be seen.

As for what the Batman: Arkham Origins developer is working, your guess is as good as ours. It teased something back in December 2018, but even further back, a job listing revealed that it had “two AAA projects in development” that were focused on “expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space.” That could mean anything from Justice League title to that one Suicide Squad project that never went anywhere. Then again, maybe it’s a Batman game based on the Court of Owls storyline, as another rumour has suggested.

Stay tuned for more details from E3 2019, especially with regards to what Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will showcase (especially since Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood won’t be there).
