Battlefield 1 Developer Head Leaves Studio

Going out on a high note.

Patrick Bach, the GM and studio head of DICE, the developer behind Battlefield, Battlefront, and Mirror’s Edge, has left the studio, EA are confirming. He has been working with DICE for almost fifteen years, and is in large part responsible for the studio’s meteoric rise. The departure seems to be amicable.

“Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years. We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure,” Patrick Söderlund, EVP, EA Worldwide Studios said in a statement.

“I’ve had an epic ride at DICE and EA, filled with amazingly creative and passionate people, and unforgettable experiences with our player community. I’ll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what’s next from the incredible team at DICE,” Bach himself said of his departure.

Bach’s departure comes right in the wake of the launch of Battlefield 1, a highly acclaimed entry in the studio’s signature franchise that looks set to go down in history as their most successful game. Battlefield 1 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
