DICE finally confirmed Battlefield 1‘s name and release date along with showcasing an in-engine trailer of the game in a recent livestream event. After the trailer was revealed, the developer talked about some interesting details that would define this release.
Battlefield 1 will take place across different locations in the world, ranging from the Western Front to Arabia and all of these locations will be featured in the campaign and multiplayer. There’s an increased emphasis on melee combat this time around with heavy and light melee weapons (including a mace) along with a variety of guns which include a flamethrower. How all of this will work remains to be seen but 64-player battles have also been confirmed.
