Battlefield 1

DICE finally confirmed Battlefield 1‘s name and release date along with showcasing an in-engine trailer of the game in a recent livestream event. After the trailer was revealed, the developer talked about some interesting details that would define this release.

Battlefield 1 will take place across different locations in the world, ranging from the Western Front to Arabia and all of these locations will be featured in the campaign and multiplayer. The game also features some of the largest vehicles ever built in-game, hinted at by the large zeppelin at the end of the trailer.

There’s an increased emphasis on melee combat this time around with heavy and light melee weapons (including a mace) along with a variety of guns which include a flamethrower. How all of this will work remains to be seen but 64-player battles have also been confirmed.

Immersion and tactics are the key elements for Battlefield 1 when it releases on October 21st for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Pre-orders will net you access on October 18th. What are your thoughts on the trailer? Let us know in the comments.
