Battlefield 5 Has Made A World War 2 FPS Dev “Beyond Excited”

'I've seen things- Battlefield 5 things.'

Battlefield 5 is widely rumored to be releasing by the end of this year (though with Titanfall 2 also apparently slated for that same window, it is hard to see these rumors being true). Regardless of when it launches, however, the fact is that the game exists- and if some of the rumors and rumblings we have been hearing about it are actually accurate, then it may end up being the best game in the series.

That sentiment of excitement seems to be echoed by some people in the development community, too. Joe Brammer, the executive producer of World War 2 first-person shooter Battalion 1944, recently posted a tweet (since deleted, but preserved for posterity on NeoGAF) about his impressions on the new Battlefield– which he has apparently seen.

“I’ve seen things #BF5 things and I am beyond excited,” the tweet read, before it was deleted. A lot of fans are speculating that this tweet being made by Brammer implies that the series may be returning to its World War 2 era stomping grounds- which would put it at odds with a lot of the rumors that claim that Battlefield 5 will be set in World War I.

Whatever Battlefield 5 is, we will find out soon- EA are probably going to take the wraps off of DICE’s newest project at E3 this year.
