Borderlands 3 Pre-Release Demo Clip Leaked, Item Score Confirmed

Players will also have a chance to switch elemental damage on weapons.

Tomorrow marks the first gameplay reveal event for Gearbox’s Borderlands 3, which should provide tons of footage on the game’s mechanics. It seems the cat was let out of the bag early though. A small clip of the pre-release demo was leaked and subsequently pulled. You can check out mirror of the same here.

Gameplay-wise, it’s still very much Borderlands (shocking, we know). However, various small details can be spotted, like the ability to switch between Fire and Radiation damage, a new Handling stat for weapons, and manufacturer-specific chests. Perhaps most interesting is that loot has an Item Score. Hopefully this doesn’t work like Destiny’s Light/Power level system and limit one’s usage of loot.

Borderlands 3 is out on September 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Along with tons and tons of new weapons, Gearbox Software confirmed that there would be even more unique gun sounds with 7,500 .wav files recorded thus far. Stay tuned for more details from the gameplay showcase when it goes live tomorrow.
