Following leaks and whatnot, Gearbox Software has officially tweeted the release date of Borderlands 3. It’s indeed out on September 13th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The title will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC at launch, as per GameSpot. In April 2020, it will be available on other digital PC storefronts as well.
An official gameplay reveal event will be coming on May 1st, but there’s a lot more information to glean from the official website. The villains are confirmed to be the Calypso Twins, who are out to claim the galaxy’s “ultimate power.” Check out the different Vault Hunters and their abilities below, as described by Gearbox themselves:
- Moze as THE GUNNER: When Moze needs backup she Digistructs her mech – Iron Bear – for a sucker punch of additional firepower.
- Amara as THE SIREN: A confident, capable brawler with the ability to summon ethereal fists, Amara uses her Siren powers to smash her enemies.
- FL4K as the BEASTMASTER: FL4K lives for the hunt. So do the loyal beasts that follow their master’s every command. Their preferred prey? Unsuspecting bandits, those poor suckers.
- Zane as the OPERATIVE: Specializing in battlefield gadgetry, Zane is extremely proficient at slipping into combat, creating chaos, and sneaking back out as if he were never there.
The guns present include weapons that propel bullet shields and volcanoes that emit fire. The previously revealed guns with legs can also track down your foes and insult them. Then there’s the level sync feature, which lets players team together online in split-screen or co-op irrespective of their level or progress.
