Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass Announced

Handsome Jack as a playable character?

2K Games and Gearbox Software announced at PAX Prime that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel would be receiving a Season Pass for four upcoming add-on packs. These packs will add new missions, challenges, characters and levels and will be available for $9.99 each. You can also pick up the Season Pass for $29.99 to net a discount.

Though Gearbox didn’t reveal any explicit details about the upcoming DLC, details that emerged from PAX Prime indicate that you’ll be able to play as Handsome Jack at some point. Whether this is actually Jack or his body double is unconfirmed but we’ll keep you updated as more details emerge. At the very least, there will be plenty to do with the default cast which includes Atlas Corp assassin Athena, Lynchwood sheriff Nisha, mechanized wonder Wilhelm (in his pre-mechanized form) and even Claptrap.

If you happen to pre-order the game without the Season Pass, you’ll still net Shock Drop Slaughter Pit as a bonus and this essentially lets you compete in a gauntlet against overwhelming odds. Those who don’t pre-order will receive it at a latter date but it will cost you. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will meanwhile be out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 14th.
