Bungie Talks Destiny’s Improved Nightfall Rewards, King’s Fall Consumable Buffs and More

Don't expect a Sunbreaker nerf any time soon though.

Bungie took to addressing a number of different issues with Destiny in its latest Weekly Update. Aside from addressing the Shadowshot glitch, delaying Trials of Osiris as a result and announcing a date for King’s Fall Hard Mode in The Taken King, the developer also talked about better Nightfall rewards in the future.

There will be an update in the future that introduces “more frequent and more powerful” Legendary rewards as part of the Nightfall. This comes after complaints of the removed XP buff, terrible rewards and underwhelming Legendary drops with recent Nightfalls.

Bungie also talked about the rumours of it selling King’s Fall consumables to increase drop rate in exchange for real money. This came after references for the same were found in Destiny’s files. Though creative director Luke Smith denied this would be the case in the future, the developer stated again that, “We’re not doing that. Ultimately, the team decided that they didn’t have a place in the game, and cut them from the experience. You’re seeing some dust and echoes from the cutting room floor.”

Unfortunately, those salty about Sunbreakers in PvP will need to wait. “Indeed, we hear you. We’re looking at the data, as well. It’s too early to dig in and make any promises. We’ll talk more soon, once we get a full picture.”
