Despite a middling critical reception, Bungie’s Destiny has debuted strongly in the UK, becoming the largest new IP launch in the country (displacing Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs in the process) according to the latest UKIE game charts from Gfk Chart-Track,
Eurogamer also reported that as far as retail sales go – including bundles – the PS4 version made up 46 percent of sales while the Xbox One version accounted for 36 percent. The Xbox 360 version saw 14 percent of sales while the PS3 version topped out at 3 percent of sales. Keep in mind this doesn’t include digital purchases.
The Sims 4 is now in second place while Watch Dogs clings to third, followed by Call of Duty: Ghosts at fourth and The Last of Us: Remastered at fifth. The remaining top ten is pretty much as you’d expect with Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution being the only other new titles and debuting in tenth. Thoughts on Destiny’s success?
