Remember concerns that the year to year sales of the Call of Duty franchise were seeing a decrease with the latest iteration in the franchise, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2? Well, that hasn’t affected the game’s number 1 spot in the all formats charts for the UK, as it spends its fifth week at the top, according to GfK Chart-Track.
Interestingly enough, Hitman: Absolution sales also jumped up by 91% thanks to discounts at retail. Due to no new releases, this was enough to put IO Interactive’s stealth action title at the number 2 spot, ahead of FIFA 13, Just Dance 4 and Far Cry 3, which occupied the remaining spots in the top 5.
Oddly enough, there are still no Wii U exclusives that have managed to crack the top 10 as of yet, and none of the recently released exclusives that even found a spot in the top 20. The console may have just been released about a month back, but are these enough to be warning signs for Nintendo? We’ll find out in the coming months.
