The Director of Development for Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Cesar Stastny, had taken to Twitter recently, doling out some information when and where he can regarding the upcoming shooter. With the game set to launch on current generation hardware as well as last generation hardware, some gamers have expressed concerns that this may well limit the game in some way on PS4 and Xbox One.
But Stastny has said that this is not true and that the cross generation release of the game will have no effect on the current generation or PC build of the game. In regards to Cross Play by way of a Windows 10 PC and an Xbox One, Stastny said that no announcements have been made in this regard, so it might not be ruled out just yet.
On a related note, Studio Design Director at Treyarch, David Vonderhaar, also reiterated that despite receiving a cross generation release, Treyarch is only working on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC builds of the game and they won’t “holding anything back.” The official Call of Duty Twitter stream has also started to tease the games E3 appearence with the BlackOps3 and E32015 hashtags. We should receive more information about the game when E3 begins next week.
