Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Nintendo Switch Top A Quiet Week in Japan in New Media Create Report

We have the newest Media Create report detailing the video game hardware and software sales in Japan for the preceding week out now. In spite of some big releases last week, it looks like the status quo was largely unchanged—much like last time, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Super Mario Party led software sales.

This was in spite of new releases such as SoulCalibur 6, which had a disappointingly poor debut, as well as the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered, which also had a very poor launch. It was just a bad time to be a new Bandai Namco game last week is what I am saying here.

Perennial Nintendo evergreen games, such as Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all did well. On the hardware front, the Switch remained in first place, with stable sales numbers week on week, while the PS4 held on to second place, with similarly stable sales numbers.
