Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Only Missing Campaign “At This Moment in Time”, Says Producer

Could it be added into the game later?

Much to the disappointment of many fans, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was confirmed to not have a campaign at its reveal event yesterday- which, especially after how well received the campaigns in Infinite Warfare and WW2 were, comes as a major bummer. Once upon a time, Treyarch used to make the best campaigns- World at WarBlack Ops, and Black Ops 2 were all very well received on that front. However, Black Ops 4 seems to be breaking from tradition.

That said, Yale Miller, Senior Producer at Treyarch, suggested in an interview with Daily Star that the campaign’s removal might not be permanent.

“[The single player mode] is only missing at this moment in time,” Miller said. “I really think with every game we make, we finish that title and then we ask ‘what is it fans are gonna love the most?’ If that’s another traditional campaign, then we’ll make another traditional campaign.

“But right now, for what our goals were for Black Ops 4, it was just [multiplayer, Zombies and Blackout] that we were focused on.”

Maybe a more traditional campaign is something Treyarch will look into adding to the game in the form of post launch support? Would it be as paid DLC, or a free update? Or are we reading too much into what might have been intended as a statement purely to contain some of the outrage? I guess we will find out soon enough either way.
