Black Friday is here, bringing sales for many games, consoles, peripherals and whatnot. Not every game is getting discounted, so it’s interesting to see the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 temporarily for less. It’s currently 15 percent off on both the Xbox and PlayStation Stores. Even Amazon has it for 14 percent off.
It isn’t the first time a Call of Duty title has seen discounts for Black Friday – see last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, it launched nearly a month before the sale, with its physical version seeing discounts. Modern Warfare 3 is roughly two weeks old, with physical and digital discounts.
You could attribute this to the game’s poor reception, with many criticizing the campaign and continuing issues in multiplayer (though Zombies is fun – check out our review here for more). It set record engagement levels for the reboot trilogy, per Sledgehammer Games, but sales numbers have yet to be revealed. Regardless, 15 percent off is still 15 percent off.
