Though a multiplayer beta is scheduled for next month, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has an alpha test for Gunfight on PS4 this weekend. It’s actually gone up ahead of schedule so head over to the PlayStation Store and grab. Make sure to clear some space since the alpha is roughly 36 GB.
PlayStation Plus isn’t required to try out the alpha either which is nice. Gunfight is a 2v2 multiplayer mode and the alpha currently has three maps available – Pine, King and Speedball. More maps will be made available over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the full-fledged multiplayer beta – of which Gunfight is a part – will start on September 12th for PS4 preorders. It will open up for non-preorders and other platformers as the weeks pass. The following weekend will also have cross-platform play enabled, letting PS4 and Xbox One players matchmake with each other.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
