Like previous entries for years and years, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have a multiplayer beta before launch. It takes place in September and pre-orders will gain early access. That’s the easy part out of the way – here’s where it gets slightly complicated.
If you pre-order for PS4, then the beta starts on September 12th. The open beta for the platform will run from September 14th to 16th, again on PS4. However, if you pre-order for PC and Xbox One, you gain access on September 19th. However, the PS4 open beta will open up again for those interested.
The open beta for PC and Xbox One begins on September 21st to 23rd, and yes, PS4 open beta players will also be welcome. More interestingly, the second beta weekend will have crossplay added, allowing players on PS4 to potentially match up with Xbox One users. If you’re in a party with a PC player, you should be able to play alongside them on console as well.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
