Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Looks Crisp With Nvidia’s Ray Tracing

A noticeable difference, to say the least.

Nvidia have taken it upon themselves to partner with several major upcoming AAA releases to deliver a handcrafted ray tracing-enabled experience on PC for each of them, and the next in line for that treatment is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

In a new trailer, Nvidia shows off what the game looks like with ray tracing enabled, with some side-by-side comparisons to go along with the raw footage to give you an idea of how much of a difference there is between RTX enabled and RTX disabled- it’s pretty noticeable, honestly, and the game is looking sharp with ray tracing enabled (especially the shadows). According to Nvidia, both the campaign and the 2v2 Gunfight mode will support ray tracing.

Though the trailer below does feature a few snippets from the game’s campaign, we’ll be receiving more footage later today at Gamescom Opening Night (or that’s what I’m hoping for, at any rate). If you can make do with more multiplayer footage, here’s roughly 25 minutes of that.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out on October 25th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
