Infinity Ward raised some eye-brows recently with its PC requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The actual minimum and recommended specs didn’t draw ire. Rather, it was the free hard disk space required for installation – you apparently needed whopping 175 GB.
However, the developer has noted that this is the space required for content coming after launch. In an official post detailing PC system requirements, it stated that, “175GB is the storage space we recommend players keep available in order to download the post-launch content we’ll be bringing to Modern Warfare. At launch, the initial download will be smaller.”
It makes sense especially given how large the post-launch content updates have usually been for previous titles. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare receiving new multiplayer maps and modes, Spec Ops maps, events and other content after launch, it’s good that Infinity Ward has clarified the space needed. What are the chances that 175 GB of free space won’t be enough when all is said and done?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can watch the launch trailer here.
