Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy Pack Is Coming… But Only to Xbox 360 and PS3

This is not what we had in mind...

The long anticipated and speculated upon Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy collection is a reality, it seems, and it will indeed be releasing, according to US retailer Best Buy– but in what might be the most anti climactic, Monkey’s Paw-esque twist to wish fulfillment of all time, it will be releasing only on Xbox 360 and PS3, as a collection of all Modern Warfare games in one budget priced re-release. As opposed to, you know, a remastering of the full trilogy, so that it can be played on the current generation consoles.

The collection will also come with the Stimulus Pack DLC for Modern Warfare 2, and will cost only $30. Essentially, for those of you who have somehow not yet played Call of Duty, this collection is the best introduction to the series you could have… except for the bit where it won’t run on current generation consoles, that is.

If you are a current generation owner, and want to relive the glory of Modern Warfare, the good news is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which is a remastering of the first game in the trilogy, will be made available later this year for Xbox One and PS4… only if you first spend $80 on buying the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, that is.

Monkey’s Paw, indeed.
