Call of Duty: Warzone Could be Getting a Sandbox Mode With Vehicle Races, Obstacle Courses, and More – Rumour

Another leak details a major upcoming mode for the free-to-play shooter.

It’s hard to find much fault with the way Activision have been supporting Call of Duty: Warzone. The free-to-play shooter is primarily a battle royale game, but it regularly gets major new updates, at times getting altogether new modes and playlists on a rolling basis, with the large-scale Zombies mode Outbreak being the newest one. If new leak (spotted by PC Gamer) is anything to go by, it could be getting another pretty major mode quite soon.

The leak in question seems to suggest that Warzone will be getting a casual sandbox mode soon, which will have several areas where the usage of weapons will be restricted. Different areas will have different kinds of casual activities, with voice lines by the in-game narrator suggesting that these activities will include things such as vehicle races, obstacle races, parkour challenges, time trials, some sort of helicopter-based activity, a team-based control point game, and more.

Call of Duty has a history of adding major new modes on a regular basis, Warzone especially, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see something like this being added to the game. Until such time it is confirmed, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt, but it doesn’t seem unlikely.

Recently, a leak also suggested that a separate, standalone Call of Duty: Zombies game is also in development. Read more on that through here.
