Capcom Plans to Further Expand PC Sales for Its Games

Capcom is encouraged by PC sales for its recent titles.

The last few years have seen Capcom placing more of a focus on PC as a viable platform than they’ve ever done in the past, and it’s a decision that seems to be paying off in spades. Monster Hunter World was the first mainline Monster Hunter title to launch for PC, and not only was it an excellent version of the game, it also sold quite bit, helping the game achieve an impressive number of lifetime sales.

It’s no surprise, then, that Capcom are now looking to double down on the PC market, and will be looking to expand sales for PC versions of their games even further. In recent statement, Capcom’s COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto confirmed the publisher’s intent to place an even larger focus on PC going forward, saying that the sales ratio for all of their games on PC has only continued to improve with each year.

“From the viewpoint of promoting digital strategy, the expansion of the PC platform spread can not be overlooked,” said Tsujimoto. “The sales ratio of PC versions of our main titles has improved every year, and we will strive to further expand sales on PC as an important platform.”

Most recently, Capcom launched Resident Evil 2 on PC, while next in line is Devil May Cry 5, which releases on March 8.
