CD Projekt Red Take To Gamescom 2014 With A Witcher 3 Dev Diary

An insider look into the development of Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has shown its face at Gamescom 2014 with a developer diary that showcases both the game plus the games world and the steps that were taken to make it feel real and authentic by drawing inspiration from the lore of cultured folk tales.

Drawing inspiration from the lore of Western folk lore, the world of The Witcher is brought to life. Western lore is noted to be the most prominent, positing that monsters are a part of a functioning Ecosystem and not necessarily, inherently threatening.

The creatures “are part of the landscape”, and given that the game world is “35 times bigger than the one presented in The Witcher 2”, that makes for one hell of a dangerous landscape. You might want to pack a silver sword or at the very least hire Geralt.

Speaking of Geralt, he too can become immersed in the lands of Wild Hunt. Be it by sharing something with a friend over a joke, or pursuing the monsters, as he’s one to do. Lets face it, he deserves that much at least.

Bringing all this together helps make The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt an exceptional looking game.
