Chocobo GP Releases on March 10th, 2022; Free-to-Play Lite Version Revealed

The free version offers access to limited characters, local and online multiplayer, Story Mode Prologue and the 64-player tournament mode.

Square Enix has announced that Chocobo GP, its racing title based on the Final Fantasy series, will be releasing on March 10th 2022 worldwide for the Nintendo Switch. A new trailer has been released and along with a paid version, there will also be a free-to-play Lite version.

Chocobo GP features several different modes like Story Mode with unlockable characters (20 in total) and tracks; Series Races, which are a series of tracks to compete for the highest score; Time Attack for racing against other player ghosts; Custom Races; and Chocobo GP Mode where up to 64 players can compete in an online tournament. Interestingly, the tournament will offer different rewards based on each season pass.

Chocobo GP Lite features Story Mode Prologue to try out along with local and online multiplayer. Only a limited number of characters are available but one can still partake in the online tournament. Purchasing the full game allows for transferring one’s save data over which includes items and in-game currency. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
