Clockwork Revolution Launches in 2027, Joins the Xbox Console Exclusive Line-up

Sent 25 years back in time, the protagonist has the power to shape Avalon to their desire, unintended consequences and all.

Pretend that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ isn’t the final announcement for the Xbox Games Showcase, and Microsoft actually closed with a pretty strong showing of Clockwork Revolution. inXile Entertainment’s first-person shooter/RPG launches in early 2027 and much like Gears of War: E-Day, it’s an XBOX console exclusive.

The new trailer is interesting because it shows a crew that the player runs with, planning a heist of the SS Vault Avalon. From Nazim the automaton to Frasmus who enjoys hitting people (and is mighty good at it) and Anne Darrow (sans expletives), they’re a motley bunch. Unfortunately, their expertise and ability to improvise doesn’t count for much when their heist is ultimately foiled, and a giant mech is sent in to kill them.

Before the protagonist can be wiped out, however, a strange drone arrives and sends them back in time to 25 years ago. With the power of the mysterious Gauntlet, they can change Avalon to their liking, changing who joins the building that the gang infiltrates in their favor.

And while that’s all well and good, one has to wonder: Are they even the same? What else has changed? And who else is using time travel to manipulate events? We’ll find out when Clockwork Revolution launches next year for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
