We Happy Few developer Compulsion Games has been largely silent about its next game since it was acquired by Microsoft in 2018. Recently, we did find out that the studio’s next project is going to be single player narrative-driven third person game, and now, a report published by Windows Central has revealed more potential new details on the project.
According to the report, the game, currently codenamed “Midnight”, will be set in a “dark and fantastical world”. Inspired by America’s Deep South, the game will allegedly tell a coming of age story, with the story itself being described as “strong”. It’ll be a “wholly single player” third person action game with a focus on magic and various fantasy-inspired enemies, such as harpies. Concept art for the game has also been shown in the report, showing the game’s protagonist, some enemies, and more. Check it out below.
Of course, until such time we hear something from Compulsion or Microsoft, it’s hard to be entirely sure about the details of the game, but it certainly looks to be headed in an interesting direction, based on these details. We’ll keep an eye out for more info, so stay tuned for more updates.
