Concord Will Have 12 Maps at Launch, No Battle Pass

Firewalk says players can unlock "hundreds of items" by playing the game, completing Jobs, leveling up characters, and more.

The open beta for Firewalk Studios’ Concord has officially wrapped, meaning it’s full speed ahead towards launch. A new post-beta FAQ is available, with the developer outlining what to expect at launch. It noted that there will be 12 playable maps at launch, including the five from the beta, with all six modes also available.

Firewalk assures that the line-up will “grow soon after” with “regular post-launch seasons and updates” that add new characters, maps and more. It also revealed that the customization items available in the beta were “just a small sample” of the game’s unlockables. “Hundreds of items” will be available to customize the Freegunners by simply playing. As confirmed before, these are all purely cosmetic.

Some items are unlocked by completing Jobs (aka challenges) and leveling up your account and characters. Interestingly, there won’t be a Battle Pass with the developer focusing on “a rewarding and robust experience on day one.” It also seemingly confirmed the lack of in-game cinematics outside the weekly vignettes we’ve seen till now.

Concord launches on August 23rd for PS5 and PC. Check out our impressions here.
