Last month we got a look at the PC specs for the upcoming title from Remedy Entertainment, Control. The specs were pretty hefty, largely due to the game’s support of ray tracing. Oddly, not long after, newer specs were released that were lowered. While it was not a massive difference in the end, it still caused confusion since no explanation was given. Well, we still don’t have a real explanation, but according to Remedy, it wasn’t due to a downgrade.
Taking to the popular web forum ResetERA, Head of Communications at Remedy Entertainment Thomas Puha gave a very simple statement to concerns that the PC version had seen a downgrade by saying, “No, its not downgraded.”
So what exactly happened here? A simple mistake with the original specs? Some last minute tweaking and optimization? Much like the fate of Alan Wake, we may never know. But regardless of the specs, Control will still release August 27th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
