Crimson Desert Showcases Combat, Traversal, and More in New Gameplay Trailer

Pearl Abyss has finally shown off gameplay footage for its upcoming single player open world action RPG with a new trailer.

It’s been quite a while since Pearl Abyss first unveiled Crimson Desert, but as promised, the single player open world action RPG was present at Gamescom Opening Night Live with a new gameplay trailer- and quite a meaty one at that.

On top showing plenty of glimpses of combat and showing off a number of different environments in what’s looking like a gorgeous fantasy setting, the trailer also showcases some of Crimson Desert’s more unique elements, like its high-octane combat, which will combine melee combat, magic, and mounted combat in fights against a variety of enemies.

Plenty of traversal abilities are also showcased, chief among them being the ability to leap off of any high point, skydive in the air, and transform into a flying wraith-like creature. You will also be able to seamlessly transform back into your normal self and jump straight into riding a horse when you hit the ground.

Meanwhile, climbing and parkour mechanics similar to the Assassin’s Creed titles also seem to be in, while the trailer also showcases brief glimpses of a variety of other gameplay activities, like fishing, talking to NPCs, and even flying in a hot air balloon. Check it out below.

Crimson Desert is in development for PC and consoles. it doesn’t yet have a release date.
