Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt RED Developing Multiplayer Title, Second Major Game in Same Universe

In total, there are three Cyberpunk 2077-related projects in development.

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be big game, probably the biggest that the developer has ever made. That being said, it won’t be the last game in this universe. A new report from Bankier had CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński confirming that a total of three projects related to the universe were in development. This includes Cyberpunk 2077, which releases next year.

The second title is a multiplayer game being developed by a team of 40 people in Wrocław. However, the third title is going to be the next major game from CD Projekt RED, and will also be set in the same world, according to Vice-President Piotr Nielubowicz. It’s being treated as a “really big and innovative project” for the studio.

Perhaps what’s most interesting is that of the five development teams that CD Projekt RED currently has, three are working on Cyberpunk 2077-related projects. One team is working on GWENT, and another is working on an as-of-yet unannounced title. With CD Projekt RED eyeing large post-launch expansions for Cyberpunk 2077, it will be interesting to see the studio’s output over the next few years.

In the meantime, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release on April 16th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
