Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt RED Not Working on Multiple Titles

Currently, two teams are handling Cyberpunk 2077, while a third is engaged in "technology R&D".

A recent report on Bankier, which featured quotes from CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński, indicated that the team was working on total of three Cyberpunk titles. The first is Cyberpunk 2077, which is out next year, while the second is a multiplayer title. The third will also use the same setting and was apparently meant to be the next major title from the studio.

This has since been revealed to be a mistranslation. A representative for CD Projekt told PC Gamer over email that there are five teams working on different projects. However, three of those teams are on Cyberpunk 2077 (instead of one focused on a multiplayer title and the other on the next major game).

“We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and Kraków, who are handling the main game, as well as the Wrocław studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D.

“A separate, dedicated team at the Warsaw studio is handling the development of Gwent. The final team is Spokko, which is currently working on a yet unannounced mobile project.”

Honestly, it’s not that big of a deal, since Cyberpunk 2077 is already being hyped as massive game. And if that’s not enough for some players, CD Projekt RED will also be looking into post-launch expansions to further explore the world. We still have ways to go before Cyberpunk 2077 releases on April 16th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, so stay tuned for more details.
