Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for plenty of time now, but it’s still at least a few years away from launch. And it looks like the development might be going through some issues- Four people employed in major positions at Polish developers CD Projekt RED recently left the studio, all around the same time. They recently changed their profiles on LinkedIn to reflect the same.
These people were Mateusz Piaskiewicz, who had been working as the Lead Level Designer; Derek Patterson, who was employed as Senior Gameplay producer; Ovidiu Traian Vasilescu, the former Project Manager; and CD Projekt RED veteran Michael Stec, who had been working as a Senior Art Producer on Cyberpunk 2077 and also worked on both DLCs for The Witcher 3.
Of course, it’d be a bit of a leap to say that the development is in real trouble thanks to their departure. In fact, it’s even hard to say that the two things have any kind of a correlation. However, seeing as these were all four people who had pretty important positions at the development team, and that they all left the studio around the same time, it doesn’t seem completely far-fetched to suggest that this might be a bit of a speed bump for the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
