Cyberpunk 2077 Still Aiming For September Release, Per Developer

CD Projekt RED still wants to make that date.

We were supposed to get Cyberpunk 2077 this month, but CD Projekt RED’s sci-fi opus was hit by the delay hammer like many games at the beginning of the year to September. Now, people are wondering if the current COVID-19 outbreak will mean that it will miss 2020 altogether. And with the studio now working remotely, it seems that is a real fear. But CDPR says it’s still on track.

In a report detailing the company’s 2019, the developer said that they are still on track. There’s no real details there, but apparently they seem to think the pandemic won’t negatively impact their current schedule.

“There is no shortage of motivation and we also possess all the tools needed to facilitate remote work,” said the developer. “We’ve been operating in this mode for over three weeks and to-date results confirm that we can carry on with all our operations without major disruptions. Our plans haven’t changed – we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk.”

Whether that will be the case is something we’ll just have to wait on. A lot of big titles have been delayed (such as The Last of Us Part 2‘s indefinite delay recently), with many speculated to get pushed back. For now, however, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for September 17th.
